Abstract
The environmental problems in which people are currently immersed leads us to search for new ways to obtain methods or materials to solve this problem. The materials with magnetic properties give a new solution to this problem. One of the materials with excellent magnetic properties is cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4). For this reason, this work provides an easy and novel way to obtain this material in the form of thin films. These CoFe2O4 films were deposited by spin coating on Pt (Pt/TiO2/SiO2/Si) substrates at different temperatures (700, 725 and 750 °). For the precursor solution, iron nitrate [Fe (NO3)3∙9H2O] and cobalt nitrate [Co(NO3)2∙6H2O] were used; they were dissolved in 2-methoxyethanol with magnetic agitation for 2 h at 60ᵒ C. In the characterization of thin films, the structure and magnetic properties were studied by X- ray diffraction and vibrating sample magnetometer diffraction pattern confirms the formation of the cubic spinel structure belonging to CoFe2O4 with the preferential peak (311) with no trace of impurities at the studied temperatures. The calculated crystallites are in the range of 10 to 24.34 nm for all samples. The magnetic hysteresis shows that as temperature increases the magnetic properties also increase.
